Frances Doretha Mack-Goode

Frances Doretha Mack-Goode was born on October 31, 1942, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Lucy Rainey and Frank Davis. She was a beloved wife to Kenneth Jerry Baird, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, family member, and friend whose life touched generations of those fortunate enough to know and love her.

Frances was a woman who valued education, service, and helping others. She earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Community and Social Services as well as an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Development.

She dedicated many years of service to McGuire Hospital, where she later retired.

Those who knew Frances will remember her as funny, loving, outspoken, and deeply devoted to her family and friends. She had a strong personality, a caring heart, and a genuine love for people. She enjoyed learning new things, teaching others, and giving back to her community. Her warmth, humor, honesty, and wisdom made her someone whose presence was both memorable and deeply cherished.

Frances was the proud mother of Linda Lewis, Angelique Goode, Clarence Goode, Jr., Sophronia Goode, Gwendolyn Goode Stith, Sabrina Goode, Novita Hickman, Johann Goode, and Jonathan Goode. She was preceded in death by her children Gwendolyn Goode Stith, Sabrina Goode, and Johann Goode.

Her beautiful legacy continued through her many grandchildren: India, Jaida, Brooklyn, Naphenuse, Jason, Kathy, Karen, Clarence III, Christopher, Canaan, Samantha, Novi, Myron, Ethan, Asia, Victorya, Jamell “JD,” Shamaria, Mickayla, Derrick, Jaylen, Jason “Dominic,” Robin, Antoney, and Gweeny.

Frances was also blessed to see another generation of her family grow through her great-grandchildren: Avanni, Aniyla, Ahjai’, Kaloni, Kyzir, Adonis, Xavier, Zyire, Larry, Leslie, Antoniah, Victor, Marlowe Jr., Christen, Antoney Jr., Mekhi, Kaori, Gabrielle, Natalia, Yara, and Knoah.

She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Branch, along with extended family and many loved ones who will continue to cherish her memory.

Family was at the heart of Frances’s life, and her legacy can be seen in the many generations who came after her. The love she shared, the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the bonds she helped build will continue to live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, extended family, friends, and community.
