James Richard O'Brien

James (Jim) Richard O'Brien left his earthly home on October 31, 2025, at the age of 79. He was the son of the late Raymond L. & Evelyn O'Brien of Richmond, VA. Two siblings preceded him in death, Buddy and Jean O'Brien. He is survived by his son, James "Andy" O'Brien (Rowena); and his brother, Bill O'Brien. Also surviving are his friend, Debby Demmler; and former wife Patricia O'Brien. 

Professional membership includes The Virginia Society of CPA's and AICPA. He was a member of the Prime Timers' Club of Richmond. Jim's education, after graduation from George Wythe High School in 1963, includes a Bachelor of Accounting from RPI-VCU and an MBA Degree from Strayer University. His career spanned many years in public accounting, including owning his own CPA practice. Jim enjoyed many activities, but his favorite was VCU basketball. 

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Richmond at 2709 Monument Ave. Richmond VA. 23220 where a memorial service will be held in the Chapel on November 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
