Sandra Leah Riley

May 15, 1949 — Oct 29, 2026

Sandra Leah Riley, 77, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on October 29, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, strength, and cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Sandra was a loving, strong, and devoted woman whose family was the center of her world. She shared a lifelong marriage with her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Gregory, whom she married in 1969. Together, they built a life and family filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Sandra was a proud mother to two daughters, Stephanie Eggleston and her husband, Jason Eggleston, and Jacqueline Reeves and her husband, James Reeves. She was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren: Grant Eggleston, Alexandra Dugan and her husband, William Dugan, Camilla Sierra and her husband, John Sierra, and Victoria Reeves. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to William Dugan III and James Dugan, who brought her immeasurable joy. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved watching them grow, celebrating their milestones, and being part of their lives. The memories they made together will be treasured for generations to come. Sandra's family was her greatest blessing. Some of her favorite moments were spent gathered around the table for Sunday family dinners, shopping with her daughters and granddaughters, and making memories on family vacations. She treasured these traditions and the time spent together, finding her greatest happiness in being surrounded by the people she loved. Sandra's Catholic faith was an important part of her life and a foundation that guided her throughout her years. She was a member of the Church of the Epiphany, where her faith remained an important part of who she was. Her love for God provided strength, comfort, and purpose throughout her life, and she carried her faith in the way she lived, loved, and cared for others. Sandra was quick-witted, smart, passionate, and strong-willed, with a wonderful sense of humor and a generous heart. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, often extending her compassion to stray animals in need. In fact, it seemed she could find a stray animal just about everywhere she went. She was also a historian at heart, with a deep love for learning about the past and uncovering her family's history. In her free time, she enjoyed researching her ancestry, tracing family roots, and discovering the stories of generations before her. Sandra will be remembered for her strength, laughter, kindness, Catholic faith, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. The love she poured into her family and the example she set through her faith and compassion created a legacy that will continue through the generations. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Frizzell, her father, Oris Frizzell and her beloved siblings, Steve Frizzell, John Frizzell, and Heather Maier. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she gave will remain forever in the hearts of her family. May she find eternal peace in the loving arms of the Lord, and may the promise of everlasting life bring comfort to all who mourn her passing. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that her faith has led her home to the Lord. While our hearts mourn her absence, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the hope of being reunited again one day. She will be forever loved, dearly missed, and never forgotten. Funeral Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in celebration of Sandra's life at Church of the Epiphany on Saturday, November 14th at noon. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate her life, share memories, and honor the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
